FUN-damentals Workshop

Our Fundamentals Workshops are fun, practical, and high-value training sessions designed to give you and your dog quick wins you can use straight away. They are perfect if you would like some expert guidance without committing to a full Lodge & Learn program, need a little extra help with skills like recall, leash manners, or impulse control, or simply want to build a stronger bond with your dog in a supportive, hands-on environment.

Each workshop runs for 2–3 hours. We start with a warm welcome where we set expectations, chat about safety, and go over how to use rewards effectively. You’ll also have a chance to share a bit about your dog and what you’d like to get out of the session. From there, we dive into the fun part, the training! Together we’ll work step-by-step through two or three focused skills, with plenty of 1:1 guidance for you and your dog. Dogs get regular breaks to relax and reset, keeping the learning positive and enjoyable. We finish with a group Q&A, help troubleshoot any challenges, and send you home with a clear homework plan so you know exactly how to keep practising.

The topics change regularly to keep things interesting, one month might focus on recall foundations, another on loose leash walking, impulse control, puppy basics, or confidence and novelty games. No matter which one you join, you’ll leave with practical tools, fresh motivation, and the confidence to keep making progress with your dog.

Puppy Development & Socialisation Workshops

Our Puppy Workshops are designed to give your pup the absolute best start in life by focusing on development, confidence, and early socialisation. These fun, practical sessions help you build the foundations of a well-mannered, happy companion while avoiding many of the usual challenges that arise in puppyhood.

In each workshop, we cover essential skills such as toilet training routines, crate and mat training, confidence-building through novelty and safe exposure, and impulse control around people, food, and other dogs. We also guide you through how to capture and reinforce good behaviours, set your puppy up for success at home, and prevent problem habits before they start.

The workshops are relaxed and supportive, with plenty of time for questions and hands-on practice. You’ll leave with clear training steps, practical exercises, and the knowledge you need to keep your puppy progressing at home.

Perfect for pups in their critical socialisation window, these sessions are an investment in a confident, well-adjusted dog for years to come.

Sports Foundations Workshop

Our Sports Foundations Workshops are designed to give you and your dog the perfect introduction to the exciting world of canine sports like agility, disc, and more.

Whether you’re brand new to sports or looking to sharpen the basics, these workshops focus on building the key foundation skills that every successful sports dog needs.

Across the session, we’ll cover essential concepts such as focus and engagement, body awareness, drive building, toy play, and handler communication. You and your dog will get hands-on experience in safe, structured exercises that make learning fun while setting the stage for future success in sport specific training.

These workshops are open to dogs of all ages and breeds, and no prior experience is necessary. With a supportive, step by step approach, you’ll walk away with practical skills, a stronger bond with your dog, and a clear pathway into agility, disc, tricks or other sports.

Most importantly, you and your dog will have a blast learning together in a positive, confidence building environment.

Frisbee Group Class

Fun. Focus. Flying Discs.

Join our exciting and supportive Canine Frisbee Group Class, designed for dogs and handlers of all experience levels and temperaments. Whether you’re brand new to disc or looking to build a polished freestyle routine, this class offers the skills, structure, and community to help you grow and have an absolute blast doing it.

Each session focuses on individual progress, with dogs working one at a time to ensure safety, focus, and tailored coaching.

What You’ll Learn:
● How to build and reinforce a reliable frisbee retrieve to hand
● Vaults and bodywork foundations (safely and progressively)

Intro to Agility Group Class

Build connection, confidence, and speed!

Ready to explore the exciting world of dog agility? Our Intro to Agility Group Class is the perfect place to start.

Whether you’re interested in competing or just want to have fun and strengthen your bond, this class gives you and your dog the solid foundation needed to begin your agility journey.

We create a supportive, friendly environment where all dogs and handlers (regardless of experience) can learn at their own pace.

Trick Training Intensive Workshop with Jess Kaddatz

Train smarter. Communicate clearer. Build connection. 

This immersive 7-hour workshop is more than just fun and games, it’s an educational experience designed to strengthen your relationship with your dog, build your training skills, and give you the tools to communicate with clarity and confidence.

While we use trick training as the framework, the skills taught throughout the day are foundational to all forms of dog training, including obedience, behaviour modification, sport work, and more.

You’ll also gain insight into reading canine body language, understanding emotional thresholds, and how to shape behaviour in a way that is both positive and lasting.

Led by professional trainer Jess Kaddatz, this workshop is tailored to the individual dog-handler team, not the group, so dogs of all levels and abilities are welcome.

Agility Intensive Workshop with Sharyn Palmer

This jam-packed, full-day workshop is your chance to work through your agility goals with Sharyn Palmer, a nationally recognised agility competitor and coach with over 30 years of experience across multiple dog sports. Whether you’re struggling with a specific obstacle, polishing your sequencing, or just want to learn from the best in a motivating and fun environment, this workshop has you covered.

Private lessons at Taaffeite K9 Training are perfect for owners who want a focused, personalised approach.

Whether you’re looking to build solid obedience, address specific behaviour concerns, or explore new skills like dog sports and tricks, we’ll create a plan that works for your unique goals.

These one-on-one sessions are ideal for:

Lodge & Learn Alumni

The Lodge & Learn Alumni stay is for dogs that have completed one of our programs previously. This stay requires no minimum number of nights stay. Your dog’s training will be maintained, and they will love learning cute tricks and playing sports during their stay!
